The Marquette County Public Defender was created in 2018 in conjunction with a grant from the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission. Any person charged with a crime in Marquette County has the option to retain their own private attorney, or if they are indigent, the Public Defender Office will provide representation with the highest level of preparation, legal knowledge, and training possible for that charge.
